Locks Heath v. Woodgreen Sat 13th July 2019
By Dave Naish
Not enough runs!
Woodgreen travelled to Locks Heath in their Hampshire league division three south game on Saturday and after winning the toss decided to bat first and got off to a reasonable start with an opening stand of 22 between Russell (27) and Rich (5). Then 3 wickets fell for only 8 runs before a 34 run stand between Russell and Renner's recovered the situation. Renner's hit a quick 21 from 11 balls, but from 64 for 3, 4 wickets fell for 16 runs to be 80 for 7. Andy (23) and Ed (9) then put on the highest and longest stand of the innings - 35 in 11.5 overs for the 8th wicket. The 3rd batting point was gained but the innings ended on 129 after 35.5 overs. The main wicket taker for Locks Heath was Jack Paskins with 5 for 34.
Locks Heaths reply was built around an opening stand of 77 between Jack Paskins (37) and Joe Baker (39). Andy Booth (37 not out) saw the home side home at 130 for 2 from 22 overs. The only wicket takers for Woodgreen were Jay (1 for 33 from 6 overs) and Ed (1 for 21 from 3).
