Following the WCC 2017 club dinner last night I've realised that I missed the chance to acknowledge that the club will be missing their biggest asset next season - as Laurence has moved away from Woodgreen. It's obvious to see why as he picked up the League and Friendly batting award and he hit the most 6's! He was also voted by the League team as their 'Players Player' of the year and received the Charlie Angel award.
Not only has he helped Richard with the vice captain's duties on Saturdays but he's virtually run the Sunday side following my injuries early in the year. He has kept up the friendly side tradition of doing our best to give everyone a game whilst still trying to be competitive, this ending in some good close finishes. Another bow to his string is his cake baking!
So on behalf of the club and myself - Laurence, many thanks for your commitment to Woodgreen over the years and all the best for the future. Your new club will have a great recruit on and off the field and their gain will be our loss.
