WCC held their annual Fete and table top sale on Sat 12th September which was held over from the Bank Holiday Monday due to bad weather. The club were concerned about the turn out due to other local events but the day turned out well both weather wise and financially. The club would like to thank all the locals who came along and hope they enjoyed themselves.
Thanks also to Andy Thorne for his bouncy castles which helped keep the kids amused. Andy runs 'Mini Bounce' and can be contacted on 07938-788659 for parties or outdoor events.
One of the major money spinners of the Fete is the 'Pub grub' raffle and the club would like to thank the following 'local's' for their continuing support:-
The Churchill Arms (Alderholt), The Red Shoot (Linwood), The Ship (Fordingbridge), The Foresters (Frogham), The Fighting Cocks (Godshill), The Bat and Ball (Breamore), The Bull (Downton), The Kings Head (Redlynch), The White Horse (Downton), The George (Fordingbridge), The Woodfalls Inn (Woodfalls) and of course the Horse and Groom.
Thanks also for donated bottles (particularly Downton's Co-op) for Ian's 'bottle stall' which raised a lot of money (I still haven't won a bottle!) and for donations given after which will help the club survive financially for another year.
