AGM held Fri 11th Dec 15

WCC held their annual AGM at the Village Hall on Fri 11th December with 13 members present. Chairman Pete welcomed the members and presided over affairs.

Not much to report on the running of the club as it's been business as usual but the club thanked all the locals for their support throughout the year. The Fete proceeds down again due to the weather and having to move the date. Two generous donations though helped with the Fete shortfall and the club are very thankful for them.

There was some changes in the club's officers. Steve has stepped down as Treasurer and the club owe him a great deal for his efforts over recent years in turning the club finances around. Steve also championed the funding for the renewed pavilion thatch plus obtaining sponsorship from Hamptworth Golf Club. All the members thanked Steve for his efforts and wished him luck for the future.

The club have been fortunate to find a worthy replacement in Karen Smith who already brought ideas for collecting subs/match fees to the meeting. Karen is fully aware of the ongoing struggles to balance the books, particularly the hefty insurance bill. The club also has to consider expenditure on the pavilion front thatch within 5 years.

The other changes concerned the Saturday League captain and vice. Ian has stood down as captain and Jon as vice. Ian has done a sterling job in taking the club to Hants County 3 but now feels it's the right time to hand over the reigns and the club thanked him for his efforts over the years. Vice Jon has stepped down due to work commitments and once again he was thanked for his efforts in helping Woodgreen to their current status.

The new League captain is Richard White and Vice Captain Laurence Harding. Richard has two new recruits lined up and has booked indoor practice already. There is a possibility of a pre season friendly with South Wilts so the club are optimistic about the future.

Secretary Ray Mortimer feels it's time for him to hand over the job soon due to technology and more and more correspondence via the internet. The club fully understands and Chaz Potts has agreed to 'shadow' Ray for the near future with the view of taking over permanently by the end of next year. Ray does a great job not only for the club but also attending Hants League, Hants Cricket Board and Cricket Ground meetings.
